It’s Your Back, Don’t Break It: Back Safety For Home Care Workers
Every job poses its own risk. Some are quite obvious. But according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, nursing and personal care workers are more likely to be injured on the job than miners or construction workers.
Accidents Per 100 Workers
Nursing and Personal Care Injuries – 17.3 per 100
Miners – 6.8 per 100
Construction – 12.2 per 100
Why are some home health care workers so susceptible to neck and back pain?
Many times, neck and back pain can be directly traced to the ergonomic hazards of your job. Generally, health care workers are at great risk for back injury, but as a health care worker in home care, your risk is even greater.
